The 2006 Invacare Top End Excelerator XLT Gold has been re-designed to be lighter and faster with more control than ever. What's new? First off, the frame and fork geometry adjust so that every rider can use a fast and furious trunk-powered position. Control through the turns are even smoother with the new steering dampener. The XLT Gold has newly designed ramped and pinned chain rings for unprecedented ease of shifting. The Top End S crankset incorporates new aluminum crank arms with a re-designed oversized bottom bracket spindle, which reduces weight but maximizes stiffness. The 27 speeds operated by Shimano Rapid fire hands-on-shifter/brake delivers smooth, responsive shifting and braking right at your fingertips, plus the easy-to-operate, no cable, virtually maintenance free, manual upper derailleur system takes the guess work out of the chain rings. New lighter weight 6061 T-6 oval tube aluminum frame with welded seat, travel ready removable fork/camber tube. 4130 Chrome-moly steel fork for strength and stiffness, steering dampener, seat restraint. Adjustable crank assembly, fore/aft seat position, back angle and multi-position footrest system. Shimano/Top End components, 27 speeds, Rapid Fire hands-on shifter/brake, manual derailer for upper derailer, ramped and pinned chain rings, oversized bottom bracket plus the Top End S or V Crankset with integral pedal bearings/ovalized aluminum ergonomic handpedals. 26" High performance, off-road or cruiser wheels/tires, threaded or quick-release axles and reflectors.

Frame: Single main tube with welded seat, recumbent style, trunk powered position with pivot steering and raked fork for controlled turning and stability. Adjustment features include an adjustable fore/aft seat, back angle, footrest system and crank heights. Travel ready frame style is standard.
Frame Tubing: 2.5" .065 ovalized 6061 T6 aluminum aircraft tubing frame with 4130 chrome-moly fork assembly for strength and stiffness.

Footrest: Multi-adjustable fore/aft with safety straps.
Wheels: Available with 26" high performance wheels and high pressure clincher tires, 24" cruiser wheels with cruiser tires or 24" off-road knobby tires. Quick release or threaded axles. Carbon fiber wheel upgrade available. Please see order form for details. Optional thorn resistant tire protectors available. Cruiser tires and knobby tires use the same wheel and brake calipers, so they can be easily interchanged. High pressure wheels and tires are not interchangeable with knobby or cruiser wheels/tires.

Back Height: Two choices are available: Low is recommended for low level injuries L1 and below who want to use their body in the trunk powered position. There is significant body movement in this position A high back is recommended for high level injuries T-12 and above who have balance issues. Selection may vary depending on fitness levels. Low/wide is 12" high same width as seat. High/narrow is 18" high, 7" narrower than the seat width.

Power: The XLT Gold handcycle is propelled manually. The propulsion system has external gearing and features a combination of Shimano and Top End components, 27 speeds, 48-40-28 chain rings and 11/32 cassette. The 11/32 cassette is operated by the Hands-On Rapid Fire unit which is mounted on the right handpedal. It operates both the 11/32 cassette and the hand-on brake. A manual derailleur system operates the top chain-rings utilizing a manual system which eliminates cables and their maintenance. The Top End S or V crankset incorporates new aluminum crank arms with a re-designed oversized bottom bracket spindle, which reduces weight but maximizes stiffness. The S/V cranks also feature integral pedal bearings offered in widths of 24" or 26" and lengths of 180mm, 200mm or 220mm will maximize pedal power strokes. A great way to just have fun, the Invacare Top End Li'l Excelerator handcycle is what your child needs to ride with you or his/her friends. This extremely stable and maneuverable upright three-wheel handcycle is kid sized and safe for even the first time cyclist. The 7-speed hub, with reverse braking, means your child's hands never have to come off of the cranks. And, with fully adjustable chain tension idler, there is no need to add or remove chain links with crank height adjustments. Fits kids who are between 42"-62", but custom sizing is always available. The easy-to-remove offensive wing or bumper is great for offensive sports such as basketball. It can be quickly removed for tennis or other non-contact sports. The Top End Transformer All Sport is so adjustable that you can play it all: start with tennis then switch to softball, basketball, hockey, football, table tennis or badminton!

Frame: Adjustable rigid sports chair featuring adjustable front and rear seat heights, back height, footrest height/angle and adjustable center of gravity. An easy to remove offensive wing for contact sports or bumper are standard. When they are removed the chair is ready for sports such as tennis. This feature combined with the adjustable camber tube allows the player to travel with one chair. The swivel anti-tip bar is also standard and adjustable in height, fore/aft and is easily removed for travel or curbs.

Camber Angle: The camber tube system with one choice of camber (0, 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, or 20 degrees) is standard and best for active players. Get the ball rolling! The Invacare Top End Paul Schulte Signature BB Titanium chair is THE CHAIR for elite players. It delivers custom built performance in a welded-to-perfection design suited for the play-making guard, power forward or big man position. No bolts to loosen up or extra weight to slow you down. So what's the buzz for 2007? Everyone is talking about our new "smart" fork system-the bearings are inset into the fork instead of the caster housing. This means quicker turning and that caster caps will NEVER FALL OFF! What else? The swivel anti-tip bar is now height adjustable and is available as single or double swivel. Want wing choices? We have them. The Schulte BB is available with the four-bend wing which is compact and great for dribbling or the round wing with round gussets for smooth turning.
